The NORTHERN ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP 11 APRIL – 13 APRIL 2008 @ SERATAS

The Cagers won their 6th consecutive PHT Northern Zone Championships in SMS Sultan Azlan Shah (SERATAS) Taiping convincingly. This year Quest-4-Glory (Q4G) decided to field a team with 8 juniors in preparation for the next year’s tournament. They did well despite the games were played with a 7 minutes non stop every quarter (a total of 28 minutes per game). So it was really a short game, not more than 5 minutes of actual playing time.

The Cagers CNY Camp 08

As with the previous years, the Cagers had their annual CNY camp. This year's edition was not compulsory for the juniors but many Form 3 Cagers decided to stay back and join the camp. 3 Form 2s stayed back as well. It was compulsory for the seniors. This year's camp went on smoothly with a lot of drills on the fast break option. A full court defense was introduced and The Cagers had difficulties in adapting the option to their already vaunted defense. Once they are more comfortable with the full court option, they will a defensive force to reckon with.

The Cagers' 12th PHT Championships & 4th in a row

The Cagers were grouped together with last year's 2 semifinalists and one of the tournament's favorite. No complaints from us because we know as in previous PHT tournaments, the Cagers will ALWAYS get the short end of the stick. They will always put us at the furthest end of the dormitories with the worst facilities (non working lights and fans). Every year, the Cagers will always raise to the occasions and proved it will take more than take to bring us down. This year, the Cagers have proven beyond doubt that they are simply the best in SBP basketball! Read on...

33rd HKSBP in SEMSAS
Mc Cagers vs. SMS Lahad Datu
29th of May 2006, 9.30 am

In this first grouping match of the tournament, Mr. Liew fielded the first five players as the starters. They were off to a jittery start, but managed to settle down just in time to put up a good defense and poured in points after points at the other end, albeit committing quite a number of evitable mistakes. Qassim led the first quarter surge with 7 points as the Cagers commenced to a 19 - 9 lead.
