MCOBA Offside

Me, Ikmal and Megat Zainuri drove up last sunday (4th May) to visit Ali (Frank) Elias in Kangar Hospital.

Actually, it was Ikmal's idea; since he has in meeting in Penang that sunday; it's a good idea to continue to Perlis after the meeting. I did try to rope in a few others but they were not available due to one reason or another.

Started out at 6am from my house and reached penang by 10.30, well in time for ikmal's meeting at 11. Meanwhile, me and megat went shopping at Queensbay Mall while waiting for ikmal. His meeting finished late at 1.30 and we crossed over to meet nazi at his place in Bertam. Had a good lunch of mee udang at nazi's favourite local restaurant. Thanks nazi or whoever paid for the lunch. Hope we cheered you up after your calamity that morning.

Then we sped off to alor star arriving at 4 pm to pickup fauzi and sofian. However, had to wait until 5 to match our schedules before departing for Kangar. The wait satisfied by teh-tarik by the bus station cafe. Also visiting hours are 4-7pm, so we had ample time.

We arrived kangar hospital at 6pm to rendezvous with mazuki who decided to visit too. So, let me present the picture below to share with you.

Although ali may seem jovial from the picts but mind you he's been hospitalised since 14th April and entirely bedridden, unable to get up by himself or attend to himself.

One can only imagine the misery of such a state and my mood was decidedly pensive.

Left the hospital at 7.15 for an early dinner courtesy of mazuki at his place. Our spirits were somewhat lifted during the local fare dinner with light banter. Finally departed kangar at 9.20 and arriving alor star just after 10. After a round of coffee radix, we dropped off fauzi and sofian and began the long drive back to KL. Low gas in the car and no gas at ulu bernam R&R forced a detour to Tg Malim for a pitstop at petronas station and 3am supper at a presentable local cafe.

Energized, we made it by 4am at megat's and me home by 4.15 and ikmal continued to his home expectedly to be in bed by 5am - exactly 24 hours since he first woke up the day before.
