Could anyone explain the TJ outfit used in the parade? Why that SJAB/Nehru/Scottish cap? The 5-buttoned Javanese/Dutch-style 'baju'?
Why the samping is worn 'dagang-luar' style i.e. of palace courtiers like valets/buttlers or the Johorean mode of attire for non-royalty/elites?

However the closed-neck tunic worn over samping was a novelty sometimes worn by Sultan Idris Murshidul-adzam of Perak and rarely too by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, but theirs had aigrettes on their headgear and sampings were/are of 'jong-sarat' or 'lobang-bangsi' design.
