Fifteen Teams Vying For Three Titles In Perak Rugby League

IPOH, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- The 2006 Perak Rugby League Championship that will kick off this Saturday will see 15 teams competing for three titles this year.

Perak Rugby Union president Datuk Muhammad Muhiyuddin Abdullah said the teams would be divided into two categories with six playing in the Super League for the Datuk Talaat Trophy while the other nine in the Premier League for the Datuk Muhiyuddin Trophy.

The top four teams in the Super League and two best teams in the Premier League would compete for the President's Trophy and the winner would represent Perak in the National Inter-Club Championship that was scheduled to be held in April, he said in a statement.

The two best teams in the Premier League this year would play in the Super League next year in place of two teams standing at the bottom of the Super League table that would be relegated to the Premier League, he said.

Teams in the Super League are ORCA TLDM, 23 RAMD, PGA, Polis Perak, 2 Renjer and X Panther.

Teams in the Premier League have been divided into two with 2 Briged, PUO, UniKL Mimet and UTP playing in Group A and ORCA Junior, ITP, UiTM, IKM Manjung and MCKK in Group B.

The matches would be held on weekends at 23 RAMD and 2 Renjer's rugby fields in Jalan Raja Di Hilir in Ipoh, Muhiyuddin said.

Hello Mister Web Matters,

Is there any chance for you to forward us the scheduling of this Group B tournament? My interest is to see how our MCKK boys would perform and maybe sometimes, even see their games.

This is good that MCKK Rugby has finally an avenue to test the team and players' individual skills. My belief is that, it can only come through game exposures that the players can validate their standards and maturity they experiences through intuitive exercises. The synergism must also jell for it to be successful, in and outside the playing arenas. And the game seeks plans and co-operations from all players and supporting role members, for a team to be successful. It is about leadership qualities of each participant in order to gain competitive edge over their opponents.
