Che Embun married Encik Ariffin b Nam the MCKK Geography master probably in 1946 and they had an only son, Razman, born probably in 1947. She is featured on front cover of the maiden issue (October 1946) of "Ibu Melayu - di bawah pimpinan Kaum Ibu Melayu Pulau Pinang", a monthly magazine published by Yahaya Ariff & Co.
Che Embun (later Datin) was Secretary of Persatuan Melayu Perak, Cawangan Kaum Ibu Kuala Kangsar.
Encik (later Dato') Ariffin was also Master i/c of the Prep School throughout the post-war years until his transfer to the Education Ministry and later to Perlis as CEO (now called Director of Education).
After the transfer of the European District Medical Officer whose wife was MCKK Matron, Che Embun became Matron and served from late 1955 to mid 1958. When Encik Ariffin went on transfer, Che Embun's position as Matron was taken by Mrs Baird whose Irish husband taught English Literature at MCKK, a contemporary of Irish History teacher NJ Ryan.
Encik Ariffin was awarded Datukship later.
Razman was in MCKK and when in Form III he was President of the Union and later on became MCKK Headboy. He also became an Insigneur i.e. Ir. Razman b Ariffin.
I wonder if he is in our group and whether he has ever seen the magazine with his mother's photograph. Anyway the publication is not available in Arkib Negara.

Re: Matron Datin Che Embun
Dear SD,
Thanks for the valuable historical accounts.
A check in the MCOB Database revealed that Ir. Razman bin Dato' Ariffin is from Class of '65 as well as an early member of MCOBA.
We shall sent him a message to alert him of your post.
