MCKK: Impressions (1905-2005)

PROLOGUE

Beautiful memories inhabit in our hearts and souls forever. Memories that undoubtedly leave a lasting impression to many of us. How true that is when we ponder back at the past, walk the corridors of time, revitalising our youth and remember with pride, passion and traditions the years when we were the Malay Collegians… Yesterday is but today’s memory and tomorrow is today’s dream and today’s beautiful moment are nothing but tomorrow’s beautiful memories.

Many years have gone and our grand College is now an illustrious 100 years old. And with this centenary, for the Old Boys, there came a revelation. One thought, as echoed by many ex-Collegians, that we must indeed put up a keepsake, a souvenir, an accolade to the College that molded the distinct persona of excellence in so many of us.

This labour of love memento has been assembled from the various pages of the Malay College Magazines over the 100 years, some issues of Kris Kangsar, Berita MCOBA, the Internet and media coverage over recent years. This Lasting Impression includes caricatures, artwork and even past advertisements as a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the Budak Kolej.

May this be as enriching an experience for you as it has been for us, as we rekindle our memories of the rich history of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar through the eyes of the Collegians. And may we continue to cherish the thoughts and uphold the honour of our alma mater and leave with a lasting impression through eternity.
