O La Paloma Blanca

When the sun shines on the mountains,
and the night is on the run,
it's a new day,
it's a new way,
and I fly up to the sun.

I can feel the morning sunlight.
I can smell the new-morn hay.
I can hear God's voices calling
off my golden skylight way.

O La Paloma Blanca,
I'm just a bird in the sky.
O La Paloma Blanca,
over the mountains I fly.

Yes, no one can take my freedom away.
Once I had my share of losing,
once they locked me on a chain.
Yes, they tried to break my power.
Oh I still can feel the pain.

O La Paloma Blanca,
I'm just a bird in the sky.
O La Paloma Blanca,
over the mountains I fly.

Yes, no one can take my freedom away.

Re: O La Paloma Blanca

O La Paloma Blanca, often called Una Paloma Blanca, by the Dutch band George Baker Selection is a hit song that topped the charts all over Europe in 1975. It can be found on the group's fifth album, of the same name. The single was also a moderate hit in the US in early 1976. The song was composed by Hans Bouwens George Baker himself, and features, rather originally for a pop song, a melodic line played on the flute. The song was rumored to refer to the abolition of fascism in Portugal, but a more modest interpretation is that the song is simply about enjoying one's freedom.

The title is Spanish, and means "The White Dove."

Why did I chose to put it up as a 'political' posting?

Well ... it's like this ... bla bla bla bla ... yap yap yap yap ... but then ... habba habba habba habba. On the other hand if we rumble rumble rumble rumble ... we would've clap clap clap clap ... and that's not good.

This posting is experiencing a media 'black out' due to reports from reliable sources suggesting possible 'non-compliance'.
