Calling on Ali at Kangar Hospital

Me, Ikmal and Megat Zainuri drove up last sunday (4th May) to visit Ali (Frank) Elias in Kangar Hospital.

Actually, it was Ikmal's idea; since he has in meeting in Penang that sunday; it's a good idea to continue to Perlis after the meeting. I did try to rope in a few others but they were not available due to one reason or another.

Larian Kardio PPUM 2007

Larian Kardio PPUM 2007 is on September 2. So far registration for the event is over 800 pax. We are expecting between 1500-2000 people to run that day. The first 1000 will receive a T-shirt each.

Registration fee is only RM15, and that will go straight to Tabung Unit Kardiologi. The main objective of this event is to generate funds for the Tabung, in aid of underprivileged cardiac patients at PPUM. We are targetting RM500,000, but as of today, cash contribution (+ pledges) is only RM173,300. The main source of the funds is actually from kind donation from corporate bodies, but not forgetting generous individuals too.

There will also be a Health Carnival, in keeping with our 2nd objective which is to create public awareness on cardiovascular disease. Amongst activities lined up are poster exhibition, blood donation, free health screening, CPR demo & training, dietetic counseling and health exercises.

Brief details of the events that day are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 2 September
Time: 0700-0930 (Race - 5.5km)
0930-1300 (Health Carnival)
Venue: Pusat Sukan Universiti Malaya

Perfect Vision, Anyone?

A few years ago I threw away my glasses (multifocal: short-sightedness, reading and astigmatism) after "stumbling" upon a natural way of correcting my eyesight.

The answer: a cocktail of freshly-made fruit juices consisting primarily of carrot, combined with beetroot, apple, celery, pear, star fruit and guava (jambu batu). This fruit juice is not only good for your eyesight but is also beneficial in many aspects as it is believed to reduce the risks of high cholestrol, high blood pressure, and even the incidence of cancer. You have to combine this with regular daily exercises such as jogging, brisk walking, swimming or cycling to gain the maximum out of it.
